New Half Yard and Fat Quarter Bundles

I've got 2 stars and a snowflake for you! Let me explain! We've done a few digital mockups of our newest bundle, North Wind.

The North Wind bundles feature a wintery selection of colours such as blue, green, brown, and grey! North Wind is available in Half Yard and Fat Quarter Bundles. There are 13 fabrics in each bundle. We've also got a quilt kit too, in case you missed it.

With North Wind, we wanted to bring you something that was wintery enough for December but with no trace of Christmas so that it could last well into February or whenever you bring out your spring decor! Of course, you don't have to put a North Wind quilt away in the spring, if you really want to see wintery colours all year! I won't judge. Well...I will judge a little, but just a little.😉

Gertrude's Star Quilt Mockup

Our first mockup is Gertrude's Star from our very own Meaford Pattern Press. I love this pattern because it just feels so classic. Like I don't think you'd tire of it. Which is great if you are spending your resources and effort to make a quilt!

Anyway, the mockup uses 12 of the 13 colours from the fat quarter bundle and some Pure Solids Porcelain for the background fabric. This mockup is of the throw size which is 80" square. It's a general throw and can work as a bed topper for a queen bed.

Snowflake Quilt Mockup

Our second mockup is Snowflake by Modern Handcraft.

Back when we were planning the North Wind quilt kit, we sent out a poll to our email readers asking them to vote on which pattern to use for the quilt kit. The choices were Knitted Star and this one, Snowflake. While the Knitted Star won out for the quilt kit, we still think the Snowflake is a great option for this bundle! It kind of reminds me of the Minecraft winter biomes*, so hey, it might be the perfect quilt for a Minecraft fan!

This Snowflake mockup uses all 13 of the colours in the North Wind fat quarter bundle, plus some Pure Solids Porcelain for the snowflake part of the quilt. The Snowflake pattern is for a throw that finishes at 60" by 72".

*that's not a bad thing by the way. After all, I'm a Minecraft fan!

Mosaic Star Quilt Mockup

Ok, now that we're done discussing Minecraft, we're going to move onto our third and final mockup!

This mockup was requested by a customer who already owned the pattern and wanted to know what it would look like if she used the North Wind fat quarter bundle to make it. I loved it so much that I had to share it with you! Isn't it gorgeous?! It's got a bit of an Art Deco vibe to it. I'd love to see this one actually made up. Yeah, so if anyone makes this, PLEASE share pictures!

The pattern in question is Mosaic Star by Lo and Behold Stitchery and it will soon be available in the shop. Much like the Gertrude's Star, this mockup uses 12 of the 13 North Wind colours. This mockup is of the throw which is 54" x 72".
